Snorting Barometer
Designed for marine and submarine monitoring applications, measuring atmospheric pressure from 750mb to 1100mb. It operates without liquid, using an advanced five-capsule system, ensuring exceptional accuracy and reliability.
The gauge is housed in a robust die-cast metal enclosure, behind a plexiglass face, ensuring durability and resistance to harsh marine environments. Its clear, easy-to-read dial allows for reliable pressure monitoring in submarines, snort systems, and other maritime operations.
These barometers monitor a submarine’s internal pressure while submerged with engines running. The engines draw air through an induction mast, which has a ball valve to prevent water intake from waves. If the valve closes, engine operation lowers internal pressure which can endanger crew and machinery. The instrument’s central sectors highlight when there is likely to be a problem, allowing the crew to adjust the induction tube height, change course, or shut down the engines if needed.
